    Travel by train and bus to the town of Uyuni, home base for salt flat exploration.

  • DAY 3 Uyuni/Salar de Uyuni

    Enjoy a three day 4x4 excursion to the Uyuni Salt Flats and surrounding desert altiplano with spectacular scenery.

    Travel through the Bolivian landscape to the town of Uyuni. Despite its isolation and challenging climate (cold and blustery most of the year), the town of Uyuni has earned the nickname of Hija Predilecta de Bolivia (Bolivia's Favourite Daughter).

    It is also the starting point for our three day excursion through the spectacular Salar de Uyuni (Uyuni Salt Flats) in 4x4 vehicles.

    Enjoy free time to soak up the sun, snorkel, hike, and cruise to various beaches, not to mention feast on fresh seafood and sip caipirinhas in the plaza in the evenings.

    Grab your bathing suit, slip on your walking shoes and take the hike from Abraao to the beautiful beach of Lopez Mendez. Follow a well-marked trail up and down, through forest and past other beaches. Eat Jack fruit picked along the way. Drink water from a natural spring. Listen to howler monkeys. After 2.5-3 hrs, arrive at the stunning Lopez Mendez beach, where the white powder sand squeaks under foot and the rolling green hills provide a stunning contrast to the turquoise water.

  2. This programme is operated on a Coach tour. Maximum Group size is passengers, at an average there are passengers travelling on this tour.

  3. Itinerary descriptions are guaranteed with the exception of unforeseen conditions which include, but are not limited to, road closures due to weather, acts of God, safety concerns, changes to highway legal restrictions, and acts by third parties beyond the control of Service Provider.

  4. There is no refund for any non-utilization of any services.

  5. All holiday prices are subject to Govt. Service Tax of 5% payable to Govt of India.

  6. At this point of time no services are confirmed and the same is subject to availability.

  7. Request for an early hotel check in or late checkout is at the discretion of the accommodation unless pre-booked and pre-paid in advance.

    Please note that this tour is a combination of several G Adventures tours. As such, your group CEO, fellow passengers, or vehicle may change between the individual tour sections.


  10. Please note any SXLR departures running in January of 2013 will be under the 2012 itinerary due to the fact that this is a combination of other G Adventures tours starting in 2012
