  • DAY 1 Arrive Oslo

    Arrive at any time.

    There are no activities planned until an evening welcome meeting. If you arrive early enough the Edvard Munch museum is well worth a visit.

  • DAY 2 Oslo/Trondheim

    Depart for a scenic ride on the Dovre Railway to Trondheim.

    Climb aboard, take your seat, and enjoy the ride. (Breakfast)

  • DAY 3 Trondheim/Bodo

    Spend a free day exploring Trondheim. Opt to visit the neighbourhood of Bakklandet, the old town bridge, cafes along the wharves, Market Square, Nidaros Cathedral or the old city streets. In the evening, board an overnight train on the Norland Railway to Bodo.

    Bakklandet Neighbourhood Visit

    The neighbourhood of Bakklandet boasts old timbre buildings restored to feature a mix of charming homes, shops, and cafes. First built in the 1600s, the neighbourhood was traditionally occupied by the city's fishermen and labourers.

    Old Town Bridge Visit
    Gamle Bybro, the old bridge, crosses the Nidelva River. it was built in 1681 after the great fire in Trondheim.

    Market Square Visit
    Market Square boasts fruit and vegetable sellers and stalls selling jewellery, flowers, and souvenirs. The town square and marketplace has been in use since the early 12th century and is now home to a status of the city's founder, Olav Tryggvason. The statue doubles as a sundial, casting a shadow on a cobblestone clock.

    Nidaros Cathedral Visit
    The Nidaros Cathedral is the northernmost medieval cathedral in the world, built on he burial site of St Olaf, the patron saint of Norway. Built between 1070 and 1300, the beautiful building is traditionally the place where the King of Norway is consecrated. (Breakfast)

  • DAY 4 Bodo/Lofoten

    Arrive to Bodo and enjoy free time exploring this small transfer city. Hop on an afternoon ferry to the Lofoten Islands. Stay in charming fishing cabins on the coast. Later, take an included tour to track down the Northern Lights.

    There will be multiple opportunities to spot the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) on this trip. If you don't see them here, don't despair.

  • DAY 5 Lofoten

    Enjoy free time on the islands with an optional wildlife-spotting cruise or scenic hikes.

    Opt for a hike up to "The Goat" for gorgeous views of the harbour. Take a local bus to Hennigsvaer, a charming old fishing village, perfect for a lunch stop.

    Head out to spot marine life and birds flourishing off the coast of the Lofotens.

  • DAY 6 Lofoten/Tromso

    Travel by bus to Tromso, arriving in time for dinner. Opt for an evening concert at the Arctic Cathedral (seasonal).

    With a free day in town, opt to try dog-sledding, snowshoeing or reindeer-sledding. In the evening, enjoy an included visit to Mt Storsteinen by cable car with an optional dinner at the top.

    For activities around town, visit one of the many polar-related museums the city offers.

    Ride the cable car to the top of Mt Storsteinen for fantastic views of the city. Opt to enjoy a dinner of great local food at the top.

  • DAY 8 Tromso/Kiruna

    Travel by bus and the famous Ofoten Railway to Kiruna, Sweden. Enjoy a stay in cabins outside the city. Cross your fingers for one more chance to see the Northern Lights from the hotel's viewing area.

    Travel to Narvik by bus with time to stop in town for lunch. Switch to the famous Ofoten Railway for one last gorgeous ride into Sweden.

    In Kiruna, enjoy a stay in cabins outside the city complete with an on-site sauna to warm up from the icy Scandinavian winter weather.

    Cross your fingers for one more chance to see the Northern Lights from the hotel's viewing area.

    With a little more time in Kiruna there are plenty of options to enjoy. We recommend booking post-night accommodation to have the chance to try dog sledding or reindeer sleighs, visit the ice hotel, go snowshoeing or participate in a Sami cultural experience. (None (Meals on your own))
