  • DAY 2 Perth/Kalgoorlie

    Head east through the desert of Western Australia to Southern Cross, a small town on the 'Golden Mile' for a lunch stop. Continue on to Kalgoorlie.

    Drive through the desert to Kalgoorlie, the largest town in the region, founded during the gold rush in 1893.

  • DAY 3 Kalgoorlie/Cape Le Grand National Park

    Visit the Super Pit, an open-cut gold mine. Continue on to Esperance, known for its stunning setting combining the bush, beach and granite. Head into Cape Le Grand National Park. Camp under the stars in a traditional 'swag'.
    Continue on to Esperance and into Cape Le Grand National Park, taking in the blue ocean and white-sand beaches.

    Visit the Super Pit Gold Mine, still in operation 24/7. View the mining activities and learn more about the importance of this industry to Western Australia.

  • DAY 4 Cape Le Grand National Park

    Hike up Frenchman's Peak for spectacular views of the area. Swim in the turquoise waters of Lucky Bay and Hellfire Bay. Enjoy a free afternoon before spending another night camping in paradise.

    Get out and explore this gorgeous national park. Walk from Rossiter Bay to Lucky Bay and spend time enjoying the area. Visit Hellfire Bay and Thistle Cove before spending some free time enjoying the beaches or hiking around a little more.

    Frenchman's Peak Hike
    Cape Le Grand National Park 2km
    Look for markers at the base of Frenchman's Peak which point to the trail up this gently sloping 262m (860) high granite cone. Scramble over boulders and brace against the wind. Bring water, and wear a hat and sunscreen. Stand at the summit, take a photo and admire the gorgeous views across the park.

    Lucky Bay
    Jump into the clear, turquoise waters of Lucky Bay and enjoy the pristine, white sand beaches. This beach is recognized as one of the best in the world with the whitest sand in Australia.

    Hellfire Bay
    Spend some time splashing in the waves at Hellfire Bay. The massive waves seen from the shore lose momentum by the time the reach the bay creating a perfect place to swim.

    Lace up those hiking boots and start exploring the trails of Cape Le Grand National Park. Admire the wild fauna in the area, pass by the stunning beaches and the seasoned hikers can try to tackle Frenchman Peak (262m) if there's time.     Drive the scenic coastline on the way to Albany. Opt to enjoy the coastal views over King George Sound by foot or by bike. Whale tours can be organized in season.

    Head for the Rainbow Coast. Stop at The Gap and Natural Bridge. Take a canopy treetop walk. Continue on to Margaret River, a spot famous for its wineries.

    Visit the Valley of the Giants. Take a canopy treetop walk to discover the massive, 400-year-old Karri trees and climb the Diamond Fire tree.     Margaret River is one of Australia's famous wine producing regions. Visit three wineries to learn about their grapes and production of wine before sampling their wares. The area is split evenly between red and wine production and includes big name grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot, as well as Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.   • DAY 8 Margaret River/Perth

    Visit the Ngilgi Cave to learn some Aboriginal legends. Stop at the famous jetty in Busselton en route to Perth.

    Enjoy a cultural and bush tucker tour at the Ngilgi Caves to learn more about Aboriginal culture and legends.

    Stop in Busselton for lunch and check out the famous jetty.

    Continue on to Perth to spend a night in the city.

    Enjoy a full day of highlights - visit the Pinnacles and sandboard in Lancelin and Greenough Wildlife Park and animal rescue facility. Continue to Horrocks Beach on the Batavia Coast for the night.

    Head out early for a day of highlights en route to Horrocks Beach.

    Travel to the Batavia Coast to overnight in a "true blue" Australian holiday destination.

    Visit the Principality of Hutt River, the oldest 'micronation' in Australia. See some coastal attractions before reaching Kalbarri. Opt to horseback ride, abseil, canoe or simply relax on the beach.

    Continue north to Kalbarri, stopping at the Principality of Hutt River en route. Visit some coastal attractions before reaching Kalbarri. Relax on the beach in the afternoon or try some other optional activities.

    Get up close and personal with bottlenose dolphins at Shark Bay World Heritage Area. A major research site, these mammals come right up to the shore on a regular basis. In the afternoon, enjoy an Aboriginal canoe tour.
