  • DAY 1 Darwin/Kakadu National Park

    Set off early from Darwin to spot crocs on a boat cruise on the Mary River before continuing onto Litchfield National Park. Visit the Florence and Tolmer Falls, the Buley Rockhole and see the spectacular giant termite mounds. Stretch out in a swag (canvas bedroll) sand sleep under the stars.

    Pick-up provided from one of our approved pickup points from 6:30am for an early start to take advantage of time in Kakadu. First up is a stop at Corroboree Billabong for an included wildlife and crocodile-spotting cruise. Visit Ubirr to look at the indigenous rock art. Stop at an Aboriginal arts and crafts centre to learn about the stories behind the creations. You have the option to sleep in a tent or outside under the night sky in a swag (canvas bedroll).

    Pick-up provided from one of our approved pickup points from 6:30am. If you've travelled up with us from the Red Centre, you will be picked up at your accommodation between 6:30am and 6:45am, so be ready!

    Crocodile-Spotting Boat Cruise

    Enjoy a scenic cruise on the Corroboree Billabong. Learn about the wetlands and their inhabitants from 30 species of birds to the infamous crocodiles. This area is home to the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world. Bring your camera, insect repellent and get ready for a thrill.

    Ubirr Rock Art
    Kakadu National Park 1h 30m-2h 2-3km
    Ubirr is home to one of Kakadu's most famous rock art galleries. See rock paintings depicting fish, turtles and other local wildlife created by Aborigine ancestors thousands of years ago. The view from Ubirr is incredible and you might recognize this spot from the film "Crocodile Dundee."

    Aboriginal Art and Craft Centre Visit

    Visit a non-proft, community enterprise that is comprised of over 200 artists and weavers. Stop to admire the raw beauty of the creations and learn more about Aboriginal art and the meanings behind it. (None (Meals on your own))

  • DAY 2 Kakadu National Park/Litchfield National Park

    Explore the waterfalls, swimming holes and trails of Kakadu National Park--a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Embark early on a full day of exploring. Travel to our overnight camp near Litchfield NP, where swags or tents await. End the day with a group barbecue.

    Hike to the top of Twin Falls for great views and an outstanding swimming spot.

    Jim Jim Falls Walk
    Kakadu National Park 2km
    Walk to Jim Jim Falls along a path and then by scrambling over slippery rocks and boulders. Look w-a-y up to see the Jim Jim Creek cascade as a plunge waterfall over the edge of the Arnhem Land escarpment. Swim in one of two cool pools near the base of the falls.

  • DAY 3 Depart Litchfield National Park/Darwin

    Guided tour in Litchfield National Park to encounter streams, rock formations and the impressive magnetic termite mounds. Tour ends in Darwin upon arrival in the evening; book onward travel after 9pm.

    Get up early to take advantage of time in Litchfield National Park.

    Some members of the group may be continuing south as part of a longer trip. Your CEO will accompany you to the bus station in Katherine, but won't be joining you back to Darwin. Ask your GCO about post accommodation in Darwin, located across the street from the bus terminal.

    Litchfield National Park 6h-24h
    Hike trails to see the Buley, Florence and Tolmer Falls. Bring a bathing suit to take a quick dip to cool off. Head to the Buley Rockholes, past forests of Eucalyptus trees, and marvel at the magnetic termite mounds, aligned in a north-south direction.
